Bolton Police Department

Now Accepting Applications for Certified Police Officers

Bolton is a central MA community of approximately 5,700 residents, immediately off of I-495, on the eastern edge of Worcester County on an historic east-west corridor. Much of its rural heritage is preserved in its current form as a residential suburb for nearby industrial communities and an exurb of Greater Boston. Bolton is the host community for Nashoba Regional High School, with students from the neighboring towns of Lancaster and Stow. Much of the department's call volume is driven by the large volume of traffic which traverses the town on Rt. 117 from East to West, and Interstate I-495 which bisects the town from North to South. The town hosts the world renowned International Golf Club and is a destination for many in the autumn, with scenic views, apple picking, and farm stands. Bolton is also home to numerous conservation and hiking trails, and to the Mass Wildlife maintained Bolton Flats, attracting many local and out of town outdoors persons who enjoy hiking, fishing, hunting, canoeing, bird watching, and other outdoor recreation. Dispatching for police & fire services in Bolton is handled by Nashoba Valley Regional Emergency Communications Center.

The Bolton Police Department is comprised of both full and part-time officers to serve the law enforcement needs of a growing central Massachusetts community. The department takes pride in it's level of involvement with numerous community groups, supporting local community events on a year-round basis. Women officers are also well represented in the department, making up nearly half of its current work force, and serving in both supervisor and patrol positions.
