REQUIREMENTS:

  • All applicants must be high school graduates or have passed a high school equivalency exam.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age, or 20 with at least 60 college credits. 
  • Applicants must  posses a valid driver’s license.  exam,
  • Candidates must pass an oral board, polygraph, medical screening, substance and psychological testing and an extensive background check. EXPEDITED HIRING PROCESS!
  • Police Officers must be able to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

CERTIFIED/LATERAL OFFICER SALARY

The City of Auburn has lateral entry and will recognize full-time law enforcement experience in municipal, county, state or federal law enforcement agency. Potential annual salary is more than $99,099+ (includes holiday pay).

Effective July 1st 2027- Educational incentive is .50/hr. for Associate or prior military service, .75/hr. for Bachelor degree  & $1.00/hr. for a Masters degree.
