GENERAL DUTIES
- Protect the lives and property of our citizens
- Treat our community with respect and sensitivity
- Respond to medical emergencies
- Detect criminal activity and arrest those responsible
- Traffic enforcement
- Pedestrian crossing and safety
SALARY
- Starting salary is negotiable
- Top patrol salary is $97,000
- Employer paid medical insurance upon retirement
ALLENTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
- We are currently seeking 1 police officer. Once selected, the officer will start immediately.
- Allentown PD provides police services to our residents as well as everyone that frequents our businesses, churches, and schools
- We are a 24-hour police department with many opportunities for specialization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be US citizen
- At least 21 years of age and no more than 35 years of age at time of hiring
- Minimum HS diploma or GED
- NJ PTC certification or NJ PTC Class II cert with the ability to be waivered.
- Must possess high moral standards
- Physically fit
HIRING PROCESS

- Background investigation
- Oral interviews
- Drug testing
- Medical exam
- Psychological exam
