GENERAL DUTIES

  • Protect the lives and property of our citizens
  • Treat our community with respect and sensitivity
  • Respond to medical emergencies
  • Detect criminal activity and arrest those responsible
  • Traffic enforcement
  • Pedestrian crossing and safety

SALARY

  • Starting salary is negotiable
  • Top patrol salary is $97,000
  • Employer paid medical insurance upon retirement

ALLENTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

  • We are currently seeking 1 police officer. Once selected, the officer will start immediately.
  • Allentown PD provides police services to our residents as well as everyone that frequents our businesses, churches, and schools
  • We are a 24-hour police department with many opportunities for specialization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be US citizen
  • At least 21 years of age and no more than 35 years of age at time of hiring
  • Minimum HS diploma or GED
  • NJ PTC certification or NJ PTC Class II cert with the ability to be waivered.
  • Must possess high moral standards
  • Physically fit

HIRING PROCESS

  • Oral interviews
  • Drug testing
  • Medical exam
  • Psychological exam
