DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Central Falls Police Department is composed of the uniformed division, the investigative division, and the administrative division. The Uniformed Division's primary responsibility is all law enforcement activities within the community. The Investigative Division is responsible for follow-up inquiries of all major crimes. The Administrative Division supports the field operations within the CFPD.
MISSION STATEMENT
The fundamental mission of the Central Falls Police Department is to protect life and property; enforce the law in a fair and impartial manner; preserve the peace, order, and safety of the community we serve; safeguard the constitutional guarantees; and provide other police-related services as required by the community in a manner consistent with the values of a free society.
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY WE SERVE
Central Falls is a city in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States. With an area of only 1.29 square miles, it is the smallest and most densely populated city in the smallest state, and the 27th most densely populated incorporated place in the United States. It is also one of only four incorporated places in New England that have a higher population density than the city of Boston (ranking fourth, behind the Massachusetts cities of Somerville, Chelsea and Cambridge, all inner suburbs of Boston). The city is composed of a richly diverse community, home to hundreds of languages spoken by individuals from all around the world.
