About the Borough of Palmyra Police Department


PALMYRA POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Palmyra Police Department consists of seventeen (17) full-time officers, assisted by one (1) class 2 (SLEO) officer and two (2) class 1 (SLEO) officers. The department has the following divisions: Administrative, Detective and Patrol.

The administrative division consists of the Chief of Police, one (1) lieutenant, and two (2) civilian records clerks. The Detective Bureau consists of one full-time detective, and a supplementary part-time class 2 (SLEO II) officer. The patrol division consists of four (4) sergeants and nine (9) patrol officers. The patrol division handles approximately 15,000 incidents per year.

The Palmyra Police Department’s mission is to provide professional and ethical public safety services in partnership with citizens to identify, prevent and solve the problems of crime, fear of crime, social disorder and neighborhood decay, thereby improving the quality of life in our community.

 

About Us

The Palmyra Police Department serves the residents of the Palmyra Borough. The borough is about 2.4 square miles, bordered by Riverton Borough, Cinnaminson Township, and Camden County. The population of Palmyra is approximately 7,500 residents. Within the borough, residents have access to transportation systems, like NJ Route 73 and the NJ River Line Train system.
