The Barre City Police Department has a compliment of 21 sworn personnel and 10 civilian positions, consisting of three divisions: Criminal Investigations Division, Patrol Division, and Emergency Communications Division.

ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY

Barre is located in Washington County, Vermont and sits atop of one of the greatest sources of granite in the world, thus billing itself as the "granite capital of the world." The city itself is 4 square miles with a population of approximately 8,500 residents. The bustling downtown is home to many unique storefronts and excellent restaurants.
