PROBATONARY PATROLMAN
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license and no felony convictions.
THE PROCESS
Applicants must submit a resume, pass an oral interview, fitness test, psychological exam and a background check.
SALARY/BENEFITS
- The starting hourly rate is $24.07 per hour. Pay increases to $24.21 per hour after 6 months and $24.64 per hour after the 1 st year probationary period.
- There is a shift differential for nights and weekends of $2 per hour as well as education and training pay incentives. Post certified applicants may start out at a higher rate.
- Upon being hired there is a $2000 sign on bonus with an additional $2000 upon completion of probation period of 1 year or if you are POST certified as a Peace Officer you will get a $3000 sign on bonus the first year and $3000 upon you second year of service.
- There are three options for health insurance: a single medical plan, in-lieu of benefits, or a health savings plan.
- All duty gear, uniforms, bullet proof vest and weapons are provided by the department.
