Part-Time Public Safety Dispatcher
The Southborough Police Department is looking to hire a qualified candidate for an immediate part-time public safety dispatcher position. Job duties include answering business and emergency calls, handling walk-in traffic, assisting the general public, and dispatching Police, Fire, and EMS calls from our new, state-of-the-art Public Safety Building. Applicants must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be 21 years of age or older with no criminal record, while undergoing a detailed background check.
Applicants must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Strong oral, written, and communications skills; superb computer experience is a must for the position. Preference will be given to those with certifications in APCO basic telecommunications, CPR, First Aid, Emergency Medical Dispatching, and Next Gen 911. Pay rate starts at $22.50/hr. The Part-Time position is non-benefit eligible.
Position also includes an option to be added to the Police Detail List as a Traffic Constable, after training and at the discretion of the Police Chief.
