VACANCY NOTICE
Town of New Fairfield
POSITION: Full Time Dispatcher
GENERAL DUTIES:
Receives calls from the public for assistance and dispatches and coordinates responses of public safety agencies (e.g., Police, Fire, EMS).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum two years’ experience in public safety dispatch
- Experience with CAD computer-aided dispatch systems preferred
- Must possess and maintain COLLECT/NCIC certification, APCO EMD certification, AT&T E-911 certification and CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to multitask and be self-starter
- Ability to work alone and in high stress situations
- Excellent customer service skills
SALARY: Per bargaining unit contract, TEAMSTER LOCAL UNION 677
