WALTON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:
POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Worker
CLOSING DATE: Until Filled
SALARY RANGE: $33,770 - $48,274
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Worker.
JOB SUMMARY:
This is a non-sworn position that performs semi-skilled construction, modification, maintenance and repair work on all Sheriff’s facilities. This position will supervise and direct jail trustees in the proper performance of their daily tasks while maintaining the security, safety and control of the inmates/offenders assigned to their work detail.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Must be at least 18 years of age with good communication skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to use various hand and power tools.
Experience in electrical trouble shooting.
Experience in plumbing repair.
Must be able to operate a tractor and bush hog.
Experience in maintaining and repairing HVAC systems is preferred.
