VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Job Title:                                Fiscal Assistant

Pay Range:                            $35,797 to $51,172 annually (based on experience)

Closing Date:                         Until filled

 

General Statement of Job

Under general supervision, the Fiscal Assistant will perform a wide variety of clerical accounting duties, including grant research and compilation and a variety of other tasks in support of the assigned area of responsibility; and perform related duties, as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Applicant must have an Associate’s degree and three (3) to five (5) years of experience or ten (10) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Applicant must have prior experience with managing project portfolios.
  • Preference will be given to applicants that have certifications from recognized institutes with specialized courses in grants management.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform technical and administrative duties in support of financial activities and operations.
  • Support the grants requirement and implementation for the Agency.
  • Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grant’s administration process.
  • Apply for/write grants for the Agency while consulting with Executive staff to determine needs and objectives.
  • Perform relevant research to identify available grant opportunities and evaluate the results.
  • Prepare financial and budget plans with the Finance department in accordance with each grant requirement.
  • Prepare documents related to grant-funded programs.
  • Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly records for all grant related activities.
  • Maintain audit trail and supporting document files; review files to determine accuracy of supporting documents; inform appropriate managers or vendors when additional supporting documents are required.
  • Research, collect, and compile information from various sources for a variety of accounting areas; assist with interpreting and analyzing data and preparing technical records, reports, and summaries.
  • Maintain a variety of hard copy and/or electronic documents and records.
  • Provide assistance to co-workers, as well as to management and directors.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Standards to Perform Job Functions

 

Physical Requirements:  Sit up to 7 hours per day, stand up to 1 hours per day, walk up to 1 hours per day, occasionally lift up to 10 lbs., bend, squat, climb, reach, kneel, and/or twist.

 

Hiring Process:

Applicants will be required to successfully complete –

  • Background investigation which includes, but is not limited to: criminal check, driving check, credit check, and previous employment check.
  • Polygraph Examination.
  • Panel Interview.
  • Drug Screen including nicotine panel.
