CITY OF DANBURY
ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER
Starting Salary: $60,669 (per Union contract)
The City of Danbury Police Department will be seeking Entry Level Police Officers.
This mission of the Danbury Police Department is to provide an environment for the people of Danbury that is free from the fear of crime, where people can enjoy a high quality of life and a community that can prosper. The Danbury Police Department is dedicated to delivering the finest community oriented police services to the people of Danbury. In partnership with the community, we will prevent and deter crime, enforce laws, maintain order and safety and be visible and accessible to all we serve. Police Officers are responsible for the preservation of public peace, the protection of life and property, the prevention of crime and the proper enforcement of all laws and ordinances.
Applicants must pass a battery of tests including but not limited to a written exam and a physical. The City of Danbury encourages qualified women and minorities to apply.
Applications will be accepted through www.policeapp.com for a $35 fee starting on October 21, 2019 and will close December 2, 2019.
The written examination will be held on January 11, 2020.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least 21 years of age by the application closing date
- U.S. Citizen
- 20/50 vision in each eye, correctable to 20/20 in each eye and normal hearing without use of any hearing aid or device
No Felony, Class A or Class B Misdemeanor Convictions
If you do not meet the minimum requirements, your application will not be accepted by the Civil Service Commission nor will you receive a refund of your application fees.
The $35 application fee is required and payable online. Applications must be completed by 11:59pm on December 2, 1019. Applications will NOT be accepted after this close date.
