General Statement of Job

Under the direct supervision of the Classifications Manager, performs work of a responsible and professional nature related to customer service and professionalism while coordinating with different department/agencies. Thoroughly and accurately complete/update, and submit or forward all required reports/documents/forms to appropriate authority/personnel in a timely manner. Work is performed in accordance with Sheriff's Office rules, regulations, policies and procedures setting the standard for customer service.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Applicants must have two (2) years of clerical or corrections experience.
  • Applicants must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Applicant must be able to multi-task.

Essential Job Functions

  • Regular and prompt job attendance.
  • Operates computerized management information systems to retrieve or enter information.
  • Demonstrate a polite, helpful, courteous, and professional image.
  • Attends mandatory and other training as required.
  • Answer and screen calls as appropriate, routing the calls to the appropriate personnel, or correctly documenting all pertinent information and forwarding to the designated individual.
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate office or individuals.
  • Maintain visitation log to properly track individuals entering the facility.
  • Accurately identify individuals prior to anyone entering the facility and/or releasing property for inmates.
  • Written and verbal communication should be accurate, concise, and disbursed in an intelligent manner.
  • Assist other departments within the Support Division of the jail when necessary.

Standards to Perform Job Functions

Physical Requirements:

  • Sit up to 6 hours per day
  • Stand up 1 hour per day
  • Walk up 2 hours per day
  • Frequently lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Frequently bend, reach, or twist
