CITY OF DANBURY
LATERAL POLICE OFFICER
Starting Salary: $60,669 plus fringe benefits (per Union contract)
The City of Danbury Police Department will be seeking P.O.S.T. Certified Lateral Police Officers. This mission of the Danbury Police Department is to provide an environment for the people of Danbury that is free from the fear of crime, where people can enjoy a high quality of life and a community that can prosper. The Danbury Police Department is dedicated to delivering the finest community oriented police services to the people of Danbury. In partnership with the community, we will prevent and deter crime, enforce laws, maintain order and safety and be visible and accessible to all we serve. Police Officers are responsible for the preservation of public peace, the protection of life and property, the prevention of crime and the proper enforcement of all laws and ordinances.

Applications will be accepted through www.policeapp.com for a $25 fee starting May 28, 2019 and will close June 18, 2019.
The written examination will be held on July 13, 2019.
Requirements:
- Current Connecticut Police Officer Certification
- Must be a current CT P.O.S.T. Certified Police Officer
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- At least 21 years of age by the application closing date
- S. Citizen
- 20/50 vision in each eye, correctable to 20/20 in each eye and normal hearing without the use of any hearing aid or device
- No Felony, Class A or Class B Misdemeanor Convictions
If you do not meet the minimum requirements, your application will not be accepted by the Civil Service Commission nor will you receive a refund of your application fees.
The $25 application fee is required and payable online. Applications must be completed by 11:59pm on June 18, 2019. Applications will NOT be accepted after this closing date.
