NORTHFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICER
The Northfield Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Qualified applicants must have satisfactorily completed a Basic Course for Police Officers, as prescribed by the New Jersey Police Training Commission. Applications from qualified alternate route basic course graduates/soon to graduate and qualified waiver eligible candidates will also be accepted. In addition, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of New Jersey.
- Between the ages of eighteen (18) years of age to a maximum of thirty-five (35) years of age.
- Pass a physical fitness test.
- Pass a medical and psychological examination, to be administered by the appointed authority. Any psychological, medical or physical condition or defect which might prevent efficient performance of the duties of the position, or cause the appointee to be a hazard to himself /herself or others, or become aggravated, as a result of the performance of these duties, will be cause for rejection.
- Have the ability to pass a background investigation, including a drug screening.
- Must have a valid New Jersey Automobile Driver's License.
Applications can be picked up at the Northfield Police Department, located at 1600 Shore Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Applications shall be picked up in person, weekdays from April 22, 2019 until May 3, 2019 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Applications must be completed and then returned in person to the Northfield Police Department no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday May 17, 2019.
