POLICE DEPARTMENT

The City of Burlington is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Police Officer in the Police Department. Burlington Police Officers carry out the Mission of the Police Department by creating a feeling of security in our community. Our Police Officers work under the direction of patrol supervisors and the Chief of Police, and are responsible for protecting the Constitutional Guarantees to all persons; protecting life and property, preserving public peace and order; creating partnerships throughout the community, preventing detecting, and solving crime; facilitating the safe movement of people and vehicles, and rendering other emergency services as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The successful applicant(s) must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Associates Degree or higher is strongly preferred. Two years experience in law enforcement function may be substituted for education. The successful applicant will have a valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one. Preference will be granted to applicants who possess current Colorado P.O.S.T certification or the current equivalent certification from another state with the ability to obtain Colorado P.O.S.T. certifications.
