POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Middletown Police Department is a full-service nationally accredited police agency, which provides law enforcement services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department is divided into three divisions, an Operations Division, an Investigative Division and the Administrative Division.  The Operations (Patrol) Division provides patrol coverage through the use of three shifts.  Each shift is supervised by a Lieutenant and a Sergeant.  All patrol shifts work eight hour shifts. Middletown is divided into three patrol districts or posts.

The Administrative and Investigative Division is comprised of the following: Detective Division; which is supervised by a Lieutenant and a Prosecution Sergeant, Records, Accreditation, Community Policing, School Resource Officers, Animal Control, VIN Inspector, Facilities Management, Mechanic and a part-time Harbormaster. 

The total authorized compliment for the Middletown Police Department is 41 sworn officers supported by four full time and two part time civilians.
