Institutional Police Officer
Minimum Qualifications / Requirements
- Age: 18-35 (For Enrollment in PFRS) Over 35 for PERS
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must pass medical and psychological examinations as required.
- Must pass a drug screening.
- Must pass a complete criminal history and background check.
- Must be a United States citizen.
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
- Ability to take direction and work harmoniously with associates, superior officers, campus visitors, students, faculty and others.
- Must be able to qualify with the department issued firearm pursuant to the schedule and course of fire as determined by the Attorney General of New Jersey.
Salary & Benefits
- Starting Salary Information: Academy - $45,000 or Fully Certified and Class II - $49,000
