EPSOM POLICE DEPARTMENT

FULL & PART TIME POLICE OFFICERS

ENTRY LEVEL & CERTIFIED

Currently looking for NH Full & Part-Time Certified Police Officers or ENTRY LEVEL. The testing process consists of a physical fitness test at the NHPSTC entry level physical fitness standard. All applicants will be subject to a full background investigation including polygraph, medical and psychological exams. Applications must be made through PoliceApp.com.

GENERAL DUTIES

Epsom Police Officers perform a variety of assignments including criminal investigations and arrests, traffic enforcement, accident investigations, and variety of community policing efforts.

SALARY

Salary is negotiated depending on qualifications and experience. The range is $40,300.00 to $45,000 with possible additional pay for special details, Hwy Safety grants and overtime.

ABOUT EPSOM AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Town of Epsom is located in Merrimack County in central New Hampshire. The population is estimated at 4566 and encompasses 34.4 miles including two villages; Short Falls and Gossville. The community is intersected by two major transportation corridors, US Route 4 and Route 28. Route 4 is one of the State’s major east/west transportation routes and connects the seacoast region to Concord. Route 28 connects the southern region communities, such as Manchester and Hooksett, to the eastern side of Lake Winnipesaukee and the White Mountains area. During the holidays and summer months, the traffic on these highways increases dramatically with people traveling on vacation, motorcycles week and both Nascar Races.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

U.S Citizenship

21 years of age at the time of employment

High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Valid Driver’s License

Vision corrected to 20/20 or better in both eyes

Physical and mental fitness

Ability to pass the background requirements

To maintain certification in New Hampshire

Part-1 Medical Requirement

New Hampshire State Law (Rsa188-F:27 lll-d-lll-j) requires that all police, State corrections, and probation-parole officers hired after January 1, 2001, as a condition of continued certification and employment, must furnish Police Standard and Training Council every 3 years with a certificate from a licensed physician, physician’s assistant, registered nurse practitioner who has conducted a medical examination of the officer according to protocols adopted by the Council certifying that in the opinion of the examiner, the officer is physically capable of participating in the Council’s physical fitness test.
