KENILWORTH POLICE DEPARTMENT

BOROUGH OF KENILWORTH

CLASS III SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER 

The Kenilworth Police Department is currently accepting applications and resumes for the position of Special Police Officer Class III.  The Class III Special Police Officer will work under the direction of the Kenilworth Police Department.  Class III Officers will be assigned to the Public Schools in the Borough where they will perform school safety and security details. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• The applicant must be a retired law enforcement officer less than 65 years of age who previously served as a duly qualified, fully training  full time officer in any municipality or county of this state or as a member of the State Police and was separated from prior service in good standing within 3 years of appointment to this position.
• Applicant must be physically capable of performing the functions of this position determined in accordance with the Police Training Commission.
• Must pass a psychological exam. 
• Must pass a medical exam and have a Doctor complete Medical Certification.
• Must successfully pass a background investigation.
• Applicant must possess a NJ Police Training Commission Basic Police Officer Certification or NJ State Police Academy Certification.
• Must possess a valid NJ Driver's License.
• Salary for Class III Special Police Officer shall be $25.00 per hour and work a schedule up to 40 hours per week, to be determined upon hiring. 
• Successful candidates will begin employment at the start of the 2018/2019 school year,
