Minimum Requirements
- Applicants must possess a Certification from an approved NJ Police Training Commission Academy & must be able to hold a valid police license in the State of New Jersey
- Must be able to work holidays, weekends, nights & days.
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must be a resident of New Jersey and possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must Have a Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English language well and intelligently
- Must be of good moral character, and have not been convicted of any criminal offense
- Must pass an oral interview, comprehensive background investigation, psychological screening, and drug screening.
Job Description/General Duties:
- Patrol the approximately 1 square mile of Bay Head Borough via Patrol Car or Bike to deter and detect criminal activity
- Beach Patrol utilizing an ATV
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service
- Motor Vehicle crash investigations
- Traffic control & enforcement
- Enforce Borough Ordinances
- Responsible for Criminal arrests and courtroom testimony
- Court Security Detail
- Participate in the safety and security at community events
- Attend ongoing training to maintain knowledge of law, procedures, and best practices
- Road Job & Overtime Opportunities
- Responsible for equipment maintenance and detailed report writing
