Now Hiring Certified and Entry Level Police Officers
The Clementon Police Department is a full service organization comprised of a patrol division, detective bureau and administrative bureau. Clementon Borough is situated at the center of Camden County along US Route 30, covering a 2 square mile district with a population of approximately 5,000. Clementon has a moderate call volume which can increase during summer months due to the influx of population brought in by the Clementon Park and Splash World regional attraction.
Minimum Requirements:
- Citizen of the United States
- Good health to satisfy pension (PFRS) requirements
- Literacy (read, write and speak the English language)
- Good moral character (based on contemporary standards)
- Free of criminal conviction involving moral turpitude
- Possess a valid automobile license issued by the State of New Jersey, Motor Vehicle Commission
- Have completed the Basic Course for Police Officers Training given by an accredited police academy in the State of New Jersey (NJSA 18A:6-4.4), or have a current SLEO II certification and be willing to attend a waiver academy.
- Meet all conditions as outlined by the New Jersey Police Training Commission licensing
requirements - Not be prohibited from possessing a firearm consistent with the provisions of NJSA 2C:39-7
Job Description/General Duties:
Clementon Police Department Officers are trained to handle cases from start to finish, including issuing complaints through the NJ Courts system, investigating crimes, domestic violence offenses, motor vehicle accidents, and a range of other calls for service. Officers are also tasked with enforcement of traffic regulation, assisting with medical calls, and preparing police reports. The patrol division operates on rotating 12 hour shifts.

Testing Requirements:
We are seeking New Jersey PTC certified candidates (BCPO or SLEO II) who maintain a current PTC license at this time.
