Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Citizen of the United States
- Possess a valid Driver’s License
- Read Write and speak the English language well and intelligently
- Have at least a high school diploma or equivalent
- Good Moral Character, sound body and good health
- Not convicted of any offense involving dishonesty or which would make the person unfit to perform the duties of the job
- Applicants must hold a full PTC Certification or a waiverable S.L.E.O II Certification
Job Description/General Duties
- Patrol assigned areas by vehicle, bicycle, or foot to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service, including accidents, disturbances, and other incidents.
- Conduct preliminary investigations, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports.
- Enforce state laws and local ordinances through warnings, summonses, and arrests when necessary.
- Assist motorists, pedestrians, and community members, providing information and aid as needed.
- Testify in municipal, county, and state courts as required.
- Participate in ongoing training to maintain knowledge of law, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other officers, agencies, and community groups to enhance public safety.
