FULL TIME POLICE OFFICER
The Mendham Township Police Department is currently seeking candidates for the position of Full Time Police Officer. The Mendham Township Police Department is a proactive community-oriented police department in western Morris County. We are a 15 officer department that proudly serves over 6000 residents over an area of 18 square miles.
The following are the requirements of the position:
- Be a citizen of the United States of America
- Be a resident of the State of New Jersey at time of appointment
- Be sound in body and of good health sufficient to satisfy the Board of Trustees of the Police and Firemen’s Retirement System of New Jersey as to his eligibility for membership in the retirement system.
- Be able to read, write and speak the English language well and intelligently
- Be of good moral character and must not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude
- Be of proper age, as required by law.
- Possess a current and valid New Jersey driver's license
- Possess a minimum of 60 College Credits or honorable Military time.
- Be in good physical condition to pass the PTC Physical Training requirement for a certified Basic Police Academy entry exam and successful completion of an academy.
We are currently accepting applications for both PTC Certified officers and non-certified candidates who would then be required to attend a police academy.
Salary Information:
Starting Salary: $58,000 for a Full Time PTC Certified Officer
Salary consideration given for law enforcement experience
New contract for 2025-2027 with a competitive salary guide and time off benefits
