Entry Level Police Officer" 

The Borough of East Newark Police Department is currently accepting applications for full-time Entry level

Police Officer"

Applicants shall meet the following qualifications to apply: 

• Must be a resident of New Jersey and a citizen of the United States. 
• Must be at least 21 years of age. 
• Shall have graduated from high school or possess a diploma or a GED. 
• Ability to perform to the tasks and duties of a Police Officer. 
• Possess a valid New Jersey driver's license. 
• Be in good health and able to pass a medical examination that satisfies guidelines 
• Be in sound mind and able to successfully pass a psychological testing establishing fitness for duty. 

Hiring Process:

• Oral interview 
• Conditional offer of employment 
• Drug testing
• Psychological testing / Medical testing
