POLICE OFFICER RECRUIT HUMAN SERVICES
OUR MISSION:
The New Jersey State Human Services Police are sworn to serve and protect the people of the state with a focus on Children, Families, and Individuals with Disabilities and Special Needs.
ABOUT US:
The New Jersey State Human Services Police Force work to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff, clients, and visitors across our statewide facilities. Our officers are stationed at one of our Regional Commands; North, Central, and South. From which we provide police services to State Psychiatric Hospitals, State Developmental Centers, and assist the Department of Children and Families with their mission.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Appointees must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- United States citizenship.
- Graduation from high school or vocational school or possession of an approved High School Equivalency Certificate.
- Appointee will be required to possess a valid New Jersey driver's license by the time of appointment.
- Must be of sound moral character
REQUIREMENTS
- Appointees will be required to satisfactorily complete a police training course approved by the Police Training Commission.
- Candidates will be required to undergo a comprehensive background investigation, physical fitness assessment, drug screen, medical and psychological examinations. Any psychological, medical or physical condition or defect which would prevent efficient performance of the duties of the position, cause the appointee to be a hazard to themself or others, or become aggravated as a result of performance of these duties, will be cause for rejection and/or removal from the hiring process, given by the appointing authority prior to appointment.
- Appointees will be required to be free of any disqualification for appointment as a Police Officer per N.J.S.A. 2c: et. seq. and N.J.S.A. 30:4-14.
