The Mahwah Police Department will be administering a selection process for an entry-level position(s). All applicants for appointment as members of the Police Department of the Township of Mahwah (T.O 2-16.4) shall:

Any candidate who meets the above requirements, will be eligible for Phase 1 of the selection process, the Physical Fitness Test. Candidates who successfully pass Phase 1, will move on to Phase 2, the Written Test. Candidates will then be placed in rank order based on a combination of Phase 1 and 2 scores. Candidates selected to move on to Phase 3, will be contacted via PoliceApp to schedule an interview. The resulting eligibility list will expire on March 1, 2025, or sooner if top tier candidate list has been exhausted.
The selection process will include the following:
Phase 1: Physical Fitness Test - Sunday, November 17, 2024 – 8:00 AM
Phase 2: Written Test administered through IO Solutions - Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 7:00 PM
Phase 3: Interviews: (1) Police Board and (2) Chief of Police and Command Staff - Dates to be Determined
Phase 4: Comprehensive Background Investigation / Records Check
Phase 5: Medical Evaluation and Stress Test OR access to recent record of approved exam
Phase 6: Psychological Evaluation OR access to recent record of approved exam
Any falsifications or untruthfulness throughout the duration of the process will result in disqualification.
All required documents (see Candidate Checklist) and fees must only be submitted via the PoliceApp website.
