OLD TAPPAN POLICE DEPARTMENT

POLICE OFFICER

The Borough of Old Tappan, Bergen County is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time police officer. Police Officers work a 12-hour Pitman schedule and have a current signed contract with the Borough which expires on 12/31/2025.

All applicants for the Old Tappan Police Department must meet the following minimum qualifications to participate in the recruitment process. Failure to meet any of these qualifications will automatically disqualify a candidate from further consideration.

At the time of application, applicants must be:

- Certified in Basic Course for Police Officers by the NJ Police Training Commission (PTC). or

-Currently employed as a full-time police officer with a New Jersey Police agency certified in Basic Course for Police Officers by the NJ Police Training Commission (PTC) with less than five (5) years of full-time police experience.
