POLICE OFFICER (CERTIFIED)

            The Oradell Police Department is currently accepting resume and cover letters for the position of full-time police officer, all resumes and cover letters must be submitted by May 2nd, 2025.

 All applicants must meet the following criteria:

Are a high school graduate or possesses a high school equivalency certificate recognized by the New Jersey Department of Education and has at least ONE of the following three (3) currently: 

• Sixty (60) college credits from an accredited college or university or;
• Two years honorable military service and honorable discharge or;
• A valid PTC certification from the state of New Jersey or currently enrolled in a New Jersey Police Academy.

The following are mandatory pre-requisites at the time of appointment:

•  21 years of age and less than 35 years of age at time of appointment

• Possesses a valid New Jersey driver’s license; and

• Is of good moral character and has not been convicted of any criminal offense involving moral turpitude; and

• Is physically, mentally, and psychologically fit to efficiently perform the duties of the position sought; and

• Is not addicted to the use of drugs or intoxicating liquor; and

• Has not been dismissed from prior police or related employment for cause; and

• Has not made any false statement or practiced or attempted to practice any deception or fraud in his or her application for employment, test, or otherwise in securing eligibility or appointment; and

• New hires must pass all physical, psychological, psychiatric, drug and alcohol screening, medical, and oral examinations.
