Teaneck - PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATOR
Job Announcement:
The Township of Teaneck is accepting applications for the position of Public Safety Telecommunicator.
Responsibilities include the dispatching of Police and EMS personnel according to standard operating procedures, maintaining, receiving and recording pertinent information from the two-way radio communications with Police and EMS personnel, processing 9-1-1 calls, processing emergency and non-emergency calls for service, provide pre-arrival instructions to patients for first aid/CPR calls for service, utilization of the CJIS and NCIC law enforcement systems and utilization of a Computer Aided Dispatch System.
Ideal candidates will remain calm under pressure, exercise good judgement, have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing clearly and concisely, have the ability to multi-task and have proficient typing and keyboard entry skills. Minimum qualifications are as follows: Law enforcement dispatching experience. Pass an employment background investigation. Appointees who successfully complete 12 month training period will be eligible for advancement under Civil Service Commission procedure to the title of Public Safety Telecommunicator.
Salary and Benefits:
Starting Salary is $53,844. Benefits include vacation time, sick time, medical and dental insurance.
