  The West Long Branch Police Department is now accepting applications for entry-level Police Officer. We offer a competitive Patrolman Salary Range from $45,320 - $137,270. WLBPD has 22 full-time sworn officers and serves a community of roughly 8,600 residents. Our jurisdiction is 2.9 square miles consisting of several major roadways including State Highway 36 and State Highway 71.

  Qualifications:

  • United States Citizen and a resident of New Jersey with a valid New Jersey Driver's License
  • Between the ages of 18 and 35
  • Read, Write and speak the English language well and intelligently
  • In sound body and of good health
  • Of good moral character, with no convictions for a criminal offense involving moral turpitude
  • Possess an associate's degree, college degree, or a minimum of 60 college credits
  • Service in any United States Military Branch with an honorable discharge may be substituted for the 60 college credit requirement.  
  • Applicants must possess a valid NJ PTC Class A or Class II Certification
