FULL TIME PATROL OFFICER
The Elk Township Department seeks a motivated, hardworking and determined candidate for the position of Full Time Patrol Officer.
The Police Department currently has fourteen full time Officers, three Class II Special Officers and one Class III Special Officer (SRO). The Chief of Police and Command Staff take pride in making sure that the Rank and File of the Department have the best equipment and are properly trained in all aspects of police work. Officers can be assigned as Patrol Units, Detectives, ATV Units and Bicycle Units all with the same goal of providing a service and meeting the needs of the Community.
The Police Department wants to continue to serve the public with a diverse staff that is well rounded in all aspects of police work. Those seeking employment with the Elk Township Police Department should be honest, motivated, and be willing to give a 100% to the community we serve.
This position will be filled upon anticipated vacancy.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
- Must be a resident of the State of New Jersey during the term of appointment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language well and intelligently and have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must be sound in body and of good health and be able to perform the physical functions of the duties assigned.
- Must be of good moral character and shall not have been convicted of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude.
- Must possess a valid New Jersey driver's license.
- Must possess a current BCPO certification.
