The Clinton Township Police Department is now accepting applications for the position/s of POLICE OFFICER. All applications and scores achieved during the Hiring Process will be kept on file for a period of six months following the hire of a new officer for consideration, at the applicant’s option, for any subsequent job position postings that may occur within that six month period.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of the State of New Jersey;
- Must be in good mental and physical health;
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language clearly and intelligently;
- Must be of good moral character, have no convictions for any indictable offense or crime involving moral turpitude, and must meet the law enforcement pre-employment qualifications for licensure prescribed by the New Jersey Police Training Commission (N.J.A.C. 13:1-10.2);
- Must be able to successfully pass written, oral, physical, and psychological examinations;
- Must meet one of the following education/experience requirements (per Township Ordinance §4-52):
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- 80 college credits with intent to complete the degree within one year of hire
- 60 college credits with at least 24 months of satisfactory employment or military experience
- 30 college credits with at least 24 months of active-duty military service
- Must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license;
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age;
- Preference given to applicants who are currently NJPTC Certified, Alternate Route graduates, currently enrolled in a BCPO course, SLEO II, or BCI Waiver Eligible (N.J.A.C. 13:1-8.4)
