ALLENHURST POLICE - NOW HIRING

POLICE OFFICER

The Allenhurst Police Department is currently hiring one (1) Probationary Patrolman. We are a small agency (9 officers), with a municipal beach club, a business district, and Victorian Era historic homes, all in a beautiful, seaside community of less than a square mile.  Although our town is small, our officers have made numerous drug and weapons arrests through proactive motor vehicle enforcement.

Our officers work a 4 on, 3 off, 10-hour shift schedule.  We send our police officers to numerous in-service training courses to ensure they are highly trained in a variety of law enforcement specialties.  These courses have included, but are not limited to:  Radar instructor, Firearms Instructor, HGN, MOI, among many other career enhancing training opportunities.

Our focus is on community policing, and traffic enforcement.

Minimum qualifications:

• Must be a citizen of the United States
• Must be a resident of New Jersey
• Must be at least 18 years of age, and not have reached the age of 35.
• A valid NJ driver’s license, with a relatively clean driving record.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language well.
• College preferred. 
• Must be in good health.
• Must be of good moral character and shall not have been convicted of any crime or offense.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen test.
• The applicant must have a CURRENT NJ PTC Class A certification (including Alternate Route graduates), OR a waiver eligible SLEOII certification.
• Applicants must live within 30 miles of Allenhurst as verified by Google Maps.
