We are seeking dependable, calm, and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Public Safety Dispatchers. This position is classified as essential personnel and plays a critical role in supporting police, fire, medical, and community service.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency 9-1-1 calls and non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch police, fire, medical, and animal control units.
- Monitor and update responding units with a focus on officer safety and community service.
- Accurately enter and maintain call and dispatch records into a CAD system.
- Use computer systems effectively while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate calmly with distressed callers and emergency personnel.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and use computers effectively.
- Clear communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Compensation & Job Security
Starting Salary: $49,647.85 annual increases (Based on USWU Collective Bargaining agreement)

General Definition and Conditions of Work
This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires reaching and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means for the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through
oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
