Job Announcement:

The Susquehanna Regional Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of a Full-Time Police Officer. Established in 1996, the department serves the residents of East Donegal Township, Conoy Township, and Marietta Borough, with a total population of approximately 14,800. The department comprises fifteen full-time officers and two part-time officers, including the Chief of Police, a Lieutenant, Sergeants, Detectives, School Resource Officers, and Patrol Officers.

 

As a community-oriented policing agency, our officers are trained in various disciplines such as bicycle patrol, forensics, DUI enforcement, crisis intervention, and traffic safety. They actively participate in community-based programs and engage with neighborhood partners daily. The Susquehanna Regional Police Department is committed to 21st Century Policing, utilizing innovative digital resources and strategies to better serve the community. Additionally, department members may be assigned to various county task forces and teams, including the Lancaster County Major Crimes Unit, Lancaster County Forensics Team, Lancaster County Regional Crash Investigative Team, and the Lancaster County Special Emergency Response Team (SERT).

 

**General Requirements:**

- Must be a citizen of the United States.

- Must be at least 21 years old by the application deadline.

- Must have graduated from an accredited high school or possess a GED.

- Must be physically and mentally fit to perform all essential job functions of a police officer.

- Prior to appointment, must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

- Completion of an Act 120 Police Academy (or an equivalent out-of-state program) is preferred but not required.
