The East Cocalico Township Police Department is accepting applications from interested candidates for the position of police officer. Candidates are requested to submit an application to the ECTPD. The deadline for receipt of applications is April 17, 2026, at 1159 p.m.
The ECTPD is seeking candidates who wish to enjoy a work environment dedicated to community service and law enforcement within a value guided police agency. We are seeking motivated police officers who possess a strong drive for self-initiated police work while operating within a team-based environment. We are only seeking proactive team players with a high desire to achieve and thrive professionally and on an individual basis.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The East Cocalico Township Police Department has a staff of 16 police officers and 1 civilian support employee. The agency provides 24/7 service to the residents, businesses, and visitors of East Cocalico Township and Denver Borough. The department is responsible for a jurisdiction containing a population of approximately 15,000. The community consists of a mixture of residential, commercial, manufacturing, and agricultural areas.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Must have a valid PA operator's license at the time of application deadline.
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Must meet or exceed all requirements and conditions for certification under MPOETC Act 120, the East Cocalico Township Police Department Police Officer Job Description, and the ECTPD Selection and Hiring policy.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
- Police Officer's Association currently in contract negotiations.
- $55,660 starting salary for Certified Act-120 officers.
- $52,873 starting salary for cadet while attending police academy.
- Officer after five years, $91,832.

Polygraph examination
Background investigation

Final selection will be made from any one of the top three candidates
Veteran preference applied to candidates within the top three final positions
