The New Canaan Police Department is an internationally accredited agency that is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time certified Police Officer. Applicants must be a U.S Citizen, at least 21 years of age, and have a high school or equivalent degree. Applicants must have a current out-of-state certification that meets POSTC Comparative Certification requirements. A minimum score of 40% on the CHIP Test and a minimum passing score of 75% on the CPCA Entry Level Police Officer Exam are required prior to applying. Potential candidates will be required to complete and successfully pass a peer interview, polygraph examination, Police Commission interview, psychological evaluation, medical examination and a thorough background investigation. A competitive wage and benefits package will be offered in accordance with the current labor contract. There is no residency nor proximity requirement for employment with the department.
