The Goffstown, New Hampshire Police Department is actively seeking police officer candidates interested in a challenging police-oriented career to fill current or anticipated vacancies. The Goffstown Police Department is a community-oriented, progressive, highly professional law enforcement agency serving a population in excess of 18,000 people. The Goffstown Police Department is an internationally accredited agency through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. The Town of Goffstown is located in southern New Hampshire with easy access to the Boston Metropolitan area, beaches, and the White Mountains.
Officers patrol an assigned area for the purpose of crime prevention and law enforcement. Duties include but are not limited to: Calls for Service; investigation of crimes; identification/apprehension of offenders; prevention of crime. Applicants must have the ability to exercise good common sense; discretion; be able to analyze situations quickly and objectively; make decisions under pressure; and perform ALL of the essential job functions of a police officer.
Currently, Certified Officers will be credited with their years of service to starting pay.
Applicants who meet the basic qualifications are selected on a competitive basis.
