MOORESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

SLEO II

The Moorestown Police Department (Burlington County) is accepting resumes on an ongoing basis to fill open SLEO II police officer positions. Prospective applicants must currently possess a NJ SLEO II PTC Certificate with the ability to waiver to full PTC certification and be under no contractual obligation to another police department under NJSA 40A:14-178 or must be willing to satisfy any training reimbursement requirement to a prior department.

Additional Qualifications:

• United States Citizen
• Resident of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester or Mercer Counties
• Age 18 or above
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (State Board of Education)
• Good moral character and free from conviction of any crime constituting an indictable offense or any offense of moral turpitude
• Able to read, write and speak the English language
• Favorable background check, medical examination and psychological profile

Prospective recruits must successfully complete paid field training prior to being deployed. Duties will include providing security at municipal court, community events, parking enforcement, and assisting full-time officers with routine patrol duties.

SLEO II officers work a maximum of 25 hours per week. Starting salary is $20 per hour with no other employer-provided benefits.
