Communications Director
Lincoln County is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Communications Director. This full-time position manages the daily emergency telecommunications services provided by the Lincoln County Regional Communications Center to law enforcement, fire, EMS and EMA.
This position is responsible for all aspects of the County’s public safety communications and dispatch activities. The Director works directly with dispatchers in a stressful environment and must be able to prioritize and multi-task while following appropriate policies and procedures. Strong leadership and communication skills are required to ensure a high-quality service is provided to dispatch partners. Evening and weekend hours may be required during emergency situations and to attend meetings or trainings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- College degree in a related field
- 4-5 years communication management and public safety experience
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of boards, user groups and agencies
- Dispatcher and Operator certifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience speaking in public and with the press
- Knowledge of developing departmental budgets and reports
