JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position provides implementation and maintenance support and maintenance to cloud server infrastructure, advance authentication methods, IT security parameter used in law enforcement activities, a wide range of services on a variety of products to all members/employees of the Department and provides user and access management for AZURE AD, Microsoft 365 suite, RMS/CAD and other systems. This position performs technical work within the department to compare, interpret, and disseminate information from data systems and instruct personnel in the best practical use of various software and hardware products. The incumbent will act as steward for all cloud-based computer software and hardware related training for new employees/members and to keep members/employees current on all changes. The position supervises IT operations and the IT Division in a limited capacity in the absence of the IT Manager. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, is part of the UFPO Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 16, with a salary ranging from $87,243 - $95,000 (salary dependent upon experience).

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Information Systems/ Management Information Systems or a combined aggregate of related training, experience, and education
  • Active Microsoft AZURE Certified Systems Engineer Certification and demonstration of on-going, Microsoft related training.  Instructor training and/or experience at teaching and training IT system trainers and end-users is preferred
  • Be of good moral character; must possess a high level of confidence
  • Able to communicate with users in non-technical language; able to respond to a computer-related emergency on a 24-hour basis
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Supervisory and/or personnel management experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of a wide variety of PC software packages
  • Knowledge of various operating systems (o/s), VMware, and other PC based operating systems
  • Ability to develop a working knowledge of the Department's and City's computer systems; ability to develop a working knowledge of Department, State, and Federal reporting statistical and data requirements
  • Ability to develop an effective working relationship with the City of Nashua’s Management Information Systems (MIS) Department and other outside agencies as they relate to the position
  • Must complete a probationary period of 6 months (minimum) up to one year
