The Garfield Police Department proudly serves the diverse City of Garfield, New Jersey, from its headquarters at 411 Midland Avenue. The department consists of 68 sworn officers and 3 civilian record room clerks, providing professional law enforcement services to a community rich in cultural and ethnic diversity. To better serve residents, bilingual officers are assigned throughout patrol operations and speak languages including Polish, Spanish, French, Italian, Macedonian, and Croatian.

The department is led by a Chief, Deputy Chief, command staff, detectives, traffic officers, and patrol officers who are committed to proactive policing, community engagement, and public safety. The Garfield Police Department’s mission is to protect the lives, property, and rights of all people while addressing community concerns with fairness, integrity, and professionalism.
