(SLEO II)
Hiring Announcement SLEO II
The Borough of Shrewsbury, NJ is now accepting applications for SLEO II Officers.
Applicants must possess all of the following:
1. Valid NJ Police Training Commission Certificate for SLEO II Police Officer.
2. Valid NJ drivers license.
3. Candidates must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Job Description
SLEO Class II (SLEO II) are authorized to perform all duties of regular full-time police officers subject to authorization of the Chief of Police.
1. SLEO II are authorized to carry firearm.
2. SLEO II are authorized to utilize handcuffs and other restraining devices consistent with this
department’s policies and only after demonstrating proficiency in the use of these devices.
3. SLEO II have the power of arrest and the authority to issue summonses the same as regular full-time
police officers.
4. SLEO II duties may include, but are not limited to:
a. Court security;
b. Records management:
c. Traffic direction and control;
d. Crowd control;
e. Special event security;
f. Municipal facilities security.
