SLEO II
The Northfield Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO Class II).
The following are the requirements of the position:
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Be a resident of the State of New Jersey at the time of appointment
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a high school diploma or an approved high school equivalent certification
- Be of good moral character and never been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude
- Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license
- Candidates are preferred to possess a current New Jersey Class II SLEO certification at the time of application although
all may apply for the position and will receive training through this agency - Pass a medical and psychological examination, to be administered by the appointed authority. Any psychological,
medical or physical condition or defect which might prevent efficient performance of the duties of the position, or cause
the appointee to be a hazard to himself/herself or others, or become aggravated, as a result of the performance of these
duties, will be cause for rejection. - Have the ability to pass a background investigation, including a drug screening.
- Must be available to work up to 20 hours weekly.

Interested candidates must pick up an application from the Northfield Police station, 1600 Shore Road, Northfield, NJ
08225, Monday, 2/24/20 through Friday, March 6th, 2020, 0800 to 1600 hours. The completed applications along with a resume shall be hand delivered in person to the Northfield Police station no later than March 20th, 2020.
