We are a small island department located 13 miles from the Rhode Island coastline. Our department has a strong focus on community policing and engagement.

Our departments mission is to partner with our community to provide quality policing for the protection of life and property, the investigation and prevention of crime and the maintenance of public safety. Everything we do is focused on making our community safer for the people who live, work and visit this special island.

About Us 

The island has a year-round population of about 900 residents. During the summer tourist season the island can see in excess of 20,000 people a day.
