DISPATCHER/TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Telecommunications Operator has the following duties and responsibilities: performs generalized Telecommunications duties that consists of being thoroughly familiar with the department's procedures relating to the use of the radio, the State Police On Line Telecommunications System (SPOTS), the Tri-Tech computer aided dispatch (CAD) system, and other telecommunications equipment which may be added or replaced by the department; acquires a thorough knowledge of the geography of the Town, including locations of parks, industrial areas, major trouble spots, jurisdictional boundaries, and other pertinent items that may be of critical importance when deciding who to send and how much and what kind of assistance would be appropriate; adherence to all of the laws, rules, and regulations of the Federal Communications Commission and State regulatory agencies; monitors the performance of communications equipment and immediately reports any malfunction/defect to the TCC or Services Sergeant; performs all tasks as assigned by the Services Sergeant, to include tasks consistent with the position of Records Clerk, if assigned to that position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Every applicant must be a citizen of the United States
- Applicants shall be at least 18 years of age by the date of appointment
- Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent meeting New Hampshire Standards
- The applicant must not have any physical, mental, and/or medical impairments which would interfere with the ability to perform the essential functions
- Persons applying shall be of good moral character
- Applicants shall not have a criminal record or serious motor vehicle record

- Chief Interview
- Successful candidates must serve a probationary period of one year
