Hiring NJ PTC Certified Police Officers
The Verona Police Department will be accepting applications for the position of Police Officer from qualified NJ PTC certified applicants who meet the listed Verona Police Minimum Application Requirements:

Verona Police Minimum Application Requirements
Selection Process
Candidates will be required to possess a Police Training Course certificate for the “Basic Course for Police Officers” or have completed the Alternate Route Basic Police Officer Program at a Police Training Commission approved school. The process includes an extensive background investigation, drug screening, oral interview, and a medical examination and psychological evaluation upon conditional appointment.
Residency
Must be a resident of the State of New Jersey for not less than six months and must be a citizen of the United States.
Driver’s License
Candidates must have a current and valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
Background
Candidates must have a good reputation and be of sound moral character.
Any conviction for an indictable offense or other crimes or offenses is subject to evaluation during a background investigation.
