Message: I know that dept.'s cannot discriminate against "older" applicants, but I was wondering what is the percentage of hiring individuals over 35.

  Message:  I graduated in 2003 from POST we had a few individuals over 40. I am in CSP class now and have a 52yr old. and he's doing great.

  Message:  I just got hired at 34. The oldest in my class was 42. Out of 32 recreuits at least 10 of us were 34 and older. The rest late to mid 20's. And maybe 4 or 5 in their early 20's. Age is nothing but a number. Go for it.

  Message:  True. good shot of getting hired. It won't be the "kids" that you compete against, it's those darn laterals. Which is still pretty good to only compete against cops!

  Message:  50% means 50%. I had intentions of apply to HPD but they take the 50% and told me to come back and retest when I missed the 50% time on the run by 6 seconds.

  Message:  Expect exactly what is described in the preparation packet that was given to you. All tests are performed exactly as described. If you've prepared you will not have any problems. Sit ups are sit ups, push ups are push ups, bench press is exact...

Message: I interviewed with the DEP back in November. At the conclusion of the interview, they told me I would hear from them in January. As of today I haven't received any correspondence from them. Has anyone else heard from them yet?
