Just dont give up. I have been trying for 1.5 years and have been getting closer each time. I am 43 and am just the police chief interview away from getting hired by Hartford. I was close a few times before but never gave up. (keep running)

Very similar to any other oral board....3 interviewers, lots of situational questions. I think it took me about 20 minutes.

The next step is waiting to hear back on a date for the written, then the oral board, the background information, the polygraph, the written psychological, the sit down psychological, the medical, then hopefully HIRED!!

| Message: I was rejected a few months ago from a department after taking my poly and psych, just was not picked. What are the chances of being hired by another dept., when applying to another dept do I have to tell them I was rejected in the past. |

As long as the polygraph and psych didnt' turn up anything serious in your background I think you should keep applying. In future applications you wil have to disclose the fact that you were rejected. Simply state the reason, if any, that you w...

yep...tell them. Rejected means NOTHING...sort of..everybody on here has "not gotten hired" by one department or another...just keep going....I think I'm the pinnacle of applicants, if I can toot my own horn, and I have lost out on my pa...
